About

Vista’s Fine Jewelry Storefront

In 1989, after working several years in downtown San Diego as a diamond setter, John decided it was time to step out from behind the curtain and get back into the retail space. He and his brother Joe opened Vista’s Fine Jewelry at 212 Main Street in Vista, California. After a decade and a half, Joe branched onward onto more expansion by opening his own space in San Marcos, California, called Levante Jewelers.

Thus, Vista’s Fine Jewelry took on a new name, keeping the same integrity, quality and care for the clientele in 2005 when John took sole ownership and changed the name of the business to reflect it. John Shakarian Jeweler is the longest standing jewelry store in all of Vista, and one of the oldest in North County San Diego.

John has over 40 years of experience in the industry and is a master goldsmith and jewelry repairman, as well as a very specialized stone setter. With decades of experience in all kinds of various settings and stone shapes and sizes, there isn’t a design he can’t bring to life.
